Double Curtain
Rods

Double curtain rods have two
rods which run parallel to each other and attach
to the same bracket mounting piece with about 2 inches of space
between them. This allows you or your decorator to hang two
different curtains in front of one window. It is very easy to
install the rods and only takes about 15 minutes. The only
thing you need to worry about is making sure your measurements
are accurate and your drilling skills are up to scratch.
As a general rule, the curtain rods should be at least 1 to
2 inches outside the frame of your window and about 4 inches
higher. Use a pencil to mark where you want the double curtain
rods to be placed. You may need another person to hold up the
rods for you while you mark the holes where the screws will go
to install the brackets.
Carefully drill holes for the screws. The bracket will stay
secure if you are installing into studs in the wall, if you are
installing into a drywall make sure you use drywall screw
holders first. It is important to make sure that the curtain
rods will be secure so that the rods and curtains don't
collapse with the extra weight.
Double curtain rods will always come with at least two
screws for each bracket to take the extra weight. Screw each of
these screws into he wall to secure the bracket. Holding the
bracket firmly against the wall, use a screwdriver or an
electric screwdriver to install the screws tightly. Insert the
first curtain into the rod closest to the wall and then place
the rod into the wall bracket. Make sure that the rod is
level.
Finally repeat the previous step for the second curtain rod.
Once both curtains are installed into the double curtains rods,
all you need to do is stand back and enjoy your handy work.
